class here . . .
Here are the pieces I did: This first is acrylic over-painting on a vintage image, with wax and collage elements.

This second one is a clip art image of a heart that I turned into an octopus, combined with a clip art woman. Again, painted over and coated with wax and collage elements.

I can't say that I'm crazy about either one, but I learned a lot and got some great effects - and I have to admit I love the whole heart-as-octopus thing; I really want to try that again on a larger scale . . .
yes, i like the heart/octopus imagery!
ReplyDeleteBridget, contact me. I have a buyer for the octopus piece if you'll part with it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting take on the human heart......way to use your imagination!
ReplyDeleteYou're not crazy about either one? I was looking at the top one thinking, "Wow, that's awesome!" Then I scrolled down and almost swallowed my tongue. A heart ... octopus?! A harctopus?!
ReplyDeleteThe worst part is I was just talking to my husband about making an animal a heart ... and your choice of animal is much cooler than mine is going to be ... and done in a different way. But you totally pwnd me there (in the best possible way).
I'm not surprised that Judy already has a buyer for the octopus piece. It's expletively amazing.
o la la! i've wanted to take a class with judy. i think you're spot on about the chagall similarity with goddesses minus goats. hehe.
